毒品注射室将传递错误讯息

维州政府上周宣布，将在 Richmond 建立一个合法的毒品注射室，这将给未来更多的毒品注射室做试验。

毒品注射室允许吸毒的人在医护人员陪同下，合法注射自己携带的毒品，毒品注射室内注射毒品可免于被逮捕或起诉的问题。 当前拟定位于 Richmond 的合法毒品注射室距离小学仅有数米之遥。

协助吸毒者合法吸食或注射毒品将带来莫大的隐忧，这将动摇毒品之所以是违法，皆因毒品有危害且危险的讯息。

与其让毒品注射合法化，我们更应该做的是协助吸毒者戒毒，并提供更多的警察、更严格的法律打击贩毒行为。

Drug injecting room sends wrong message

The Victorian government announced last week that it would set up a drug injecting room in Richmond, as a trial for more injecting rooms in future.

A drug injecting room allows drug users to take their drugs with medical staff present without being arrested or prosecuted.  The drug injecting room proposed for Richmond is located just metres from a primary school.

Helping drug users to take drugs undermines the message that these drugs are illegal because they are dangerous. 

Instead, we should be helping addicts to stop taking drugs, and having more police and stronger laws to catch and punish drug traffickers.
