Liberals to boost safety in local suburbs
A Liberal Nationals state government will invest $375,000 in more security cameras, better lighting and other measures to fight crime in local suburbs such as Box Hill, Box Hill North, Blackburn, Blackburn North and Mont Albert North.
Since 2014, our suburbs have been hit by increases in home invasions, burglaries, theft and vandalism, with a growing problem of criminals using park lands and walking paths to spy on nearby homes.
Under this commitment, fixed and mobile cameras and other measures will cover at-risk areas and facilities, such as walking and cycling paths, sporting facilities, park lands and shopping centre streets and lanes.
Crime prevention is a key part of making Victoria safe again. As MP for Box Hill, I warmly welcome this commitment to better protect our suburbs.
