Attorney-General Robert Clark has today expressed the Coalition Government’s appreciation of the work of the outgoing Victorian Equal
Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner, Dr Helen Szoke.
Dr Helen Szoke has today announced her resignation from the position of Commissioner of VEOHRC after more than six years with the Commission, including as Commissioner since 2009.
“I thank Dr Szoke for her many years of public service at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission,” Mr Clark said.
“Dr Szoke has made a significant contribution to the Victorian community over many years through her various roles at the Commission and through her dedicated commitment to promoting justice and fairness for all in the community.
“I have greatly appreciated the positive and constructive working relationship with Dr Szoke and the Commission since the election of the
Coalition Government,” Mr Clark said.
Prior to her appointment as Commissioner in 2009, Dr Szoke was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Conciliator of the Commission.
It is expected that the VEOHRC Board will appoint an Acting Commissioner pending the recruitment of a new Commissioner.
