Crime soars as frontline police cut and laws weakened
Today’s crime figures show yet again that crime is soaring across Victoria. There’s been a massive 13.4% increase over the past year, with robberies up 14.2%, burglaries up 12.6% and assaults up 11.1%.
It’s not just coincidence that crime has surged at the same time as frontline police are being cut, police stations closed and sentences and bail laws weakened.
Premier Andrews’ soft on crime approach has got to end. We need more police, we need stronger sentences and we need more effective laws to deter offending and keep dangerous offenders behind bars.
