Victoria’s fourth Corrections Minister in 10 months
Today’s resignation of Steve Herbert as a Minister in the Andrews Government will see Victoria have its fourth Corrections Minister in just ten months.
As my colleague Edward O’Donohue says, the justice system under Premier Andrews is in crisis, with home invasions, carjackings, recent looting and a prison system which has fast become a joke.
While Mr Andrews and his government have been focused on two pet dogs, a young serious offender has literally walked out of the Youth Justice Centre, looters have run amok through four Officeworks stores and a baby has been the subject of a shocking carjacking.
Victorians deserve a government focused on community safety, not a government focused on their own misconduct.
