Labor’s port deal risks jobs, economy and environment

Question time in State Parliament today has added to concerns about the Andrews Labor government’s Port of Melbourne lease proposal.

Under Opposition questioning, Ports Minister Luke Donnellan confirmed that Labor is seeking to maximize the dollars it can get for the lease by shutting out future competition.

He also refused to rule out blasting the Port Phillip Bay heads in order to allow supersized container ships to reach the Port of Melbourne.

Labor can’t be allowed to sell out Victoria’s environment, jobs or economy.

We have to get the port lease deal right, not have it turn out like another desalination plant or myki.
