Peter Mac – Chair resigns after Labor scraps 42 beds
The Chair of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre has resigned following the Victorian Labor government’s scrapping of 42 cancer beds for Peter Mac in the new Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
Ms Wendy Harris QC was a highly respected board Chair who has given years of service to Peter Mac and the cause of fighting cancer.
Ms Harris was also prepared to speak out publicly and tell the community the true facts about Labor’s ideologically-driven decision to tear up years of hard work by doctors, research institutions, board members and donors to further build Melbourne as a world-class centre for cancer treatment and research.
Now Ms Harris joins the long list of those who have either been forced out or found it impossible to work with Daniel Andrews and his government, and Victoria will be the poorer for it.
